    “Do you and work hard,” says a laid back Skeme over lunch at a health food café in an affluent area of Los Angeles. “That’s the best advice I got from my big bro about the business and that’s what I do.” Speaking with a confidence and maturity well beyond his twenty-one years on earth, it’s not hard to see why so many people believe in and supports Skeme as an artist. If genes have anything to do with Lonnie Kimble becoming the rapper now known as Skeme, you’d know music has always been a part of his life. Raised by his grandparents in Inglewood, CA the young rapper was exposed to Rhythm & Blues at an early age. Skeme recalls listening to many blues singers like Johnnie Taylor and his grandfather’s best friend Bobby “Blue” Bland. “My Great‐Uncle is Howlin’ Wolf, that was like, a trip,” he says with an excited grin.     From rocking to the Rhythm and Blues at the behest of his grandparents, to the streets of Inglewood, to the halls of the Los Angeles Recording School, to the debut of his new album, "Inglewood," the ung rapper, Skeme, has a lot to look forward to in his burgeoning career as a hip-hop artist. For example, he has had the chance to work and perform with Wale, Iggy Azalea, Dom Kennedy, Nipsey Hustle, and bekymmer at the ripe age of twenty-one. He has released several mixes, "Skeme of Things," "Skeme of Things 2," "All-Rapped Up," and his latest, "Pistols and Palm Trees." With an intense, fast-paced delivery and style, 2013 saw the release the skiva, "Inglewood," on the indie label, "MADE Headlines," of which he is one of the only two artists represented.

Skeme has collaborated with various West Coast rappers such as the group Black Hippy, Bizzy Bone, The Game, Dom Kennedy, Nipsey Hussle, E-40, Casey Veggies and Problem among others. In 2012, Skeme released his debut studio album Alive & Living under RBC Records. His second studio album Ingleworld was released in 2013 by MADE Headlines.
