Benzodiazepines most common substance in overdose deaths in , ahead of oxycodone and fentanyl
Benzodiazepines were involved in more drug-induced deaths in than heroin and methadone combined, but you would be hard-pressed to find any stories warning of their dangers on the front pages.

- Patients are regularly prescribed the drug for longer than the recommended weeks
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the sleeping and anti-anxiety pills were the most common single substance found in overdose deaths, ahead of opioids oxycodone and codeine and powerful narcotics like fentanyl.

Renowned fashion designer found dead
Renowned fashion designer Ruth Tarvydas has been found dead outside her East Perth apartment.
She was found early on this morning outside her apartment on Forrest Street, West Australian Police say.
Police said no criminality was involved but investigations by the police coronial unit continued.
Ms Tarvydas closed her boutique on King Street in due to high rents but her flagship store in Claremont remained.
A year later, her business went into liquidation, despite her list of high-profile clients including Rihanna, Elle Macpherson, Emma Watson, Jennifer Hawkins and Natalie Bassingthwaite.
She also designed the now-famous plunging red backless gown worn by Rebecca Twigley, model and then girlfriend of West Coast Eagle Chris Judd, at 's Brownlow Medal ceremony.
