Githu Muigai attended St. James, Kiambu Primary School between 1967 and 1973. He joined Githiga Secondary School in 1974 and completed O-level education in 1977 with East African Certificate of Education. He joined Meru High School from 1978-1979 for his East African Advanced Certificate of Education.
From 1980 – 1984 he enrolled for a Bachelor’s Degree in Law at the University of Nairobi.
Thereafter he went to the Kenya School of Law from 1984-1985 for his Diploma in Legal Practice (Dip Law).
