    2006 studio album by Jenny Lewis and The Watson Twins

    Rabbit Fur Coat is an album in collaboration bygd Jenny Lewis of Rilo Kiley, with The Watson Twins. It was released in the United States on January 24, 2006, by grupp Love. Lewis has described the skiva as a "sort of soul record". The skiva contains a cover of the Traveling Wilburys song "Handle With Care", featuring Ben Gibbard (of Death Cab for Cutie), Conor Oberst (of Bright Eyes) and M. Ward.

    Lewis embarked on her first solo tour to support the skiva, with Johnathan Rice and either Whispertown 2000 or The Blow opening. She also appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson in support of the album.

    When the Watson Twins sang for Jenny Lewis on her 2006 album Rabbit Fur Coat, they viewed it as simply doing a favor for a friend. Lewis was the Watsons’ neighbor in the Silver Lake neighborhood of L.A., and Chandra and Leigh Watson always liked an opportunity to jam.

    Back in high school in Kentucky, the sisters could often be found at their friend’s Grateful Dead shop singing harmonies behind whoever had an acoustic guitar. To them, the Rilo Kiley bandleader’s project was no different.

    “We thought Rilo Kiley was Jenny’s thing and this was just a one-off,” says Chandra. “But it took us around the world,” adds Leigh, “and changed our musical journey.”

    The album exploded on the indie-pop scene and the Watsons were soon getting recognized. Writers and fans buzzed about these cool identical twins with the angelic voices. The record even prominent

    The Watson Twins are an Americana band based in Nashville, TN formed by identical twin sisters Chandra and Leigh Watson.

    Chandra and Leigh were born on March 17, 1975, in Tulsa, Oklahoma and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. They attended the University of Evansville then moved to the Silver Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles, California in 1998, where they were founding members of Slydell. They also began writing their own music and performing with other local musicians.

    In 2006, the Watson Twins released their debut EP, Southern Manners, simultaneously with Rabbit Fur Coat, their collaboration with singer-songwriter Jenny Lewis, a neighbor of the sisters in Silver Lake.[1] Their album, Fire Songs, was released on June 24, 2008. On February 9, 2010, they released Talking To You, Talking To Me on Vanguard Records.
