ESPN’s “The Last Dance” documentary series is now over halfway finished after episodes 5 and 6 aired Sunday. Episode 5 carried a little more weight, as we got a quick glimpse into the older-younger brother relationship between Michael Jordan and the late Kobe Bryant. Episode 5 also brought details of the 1992 Olympic “Dream Team,” Jordan’s political dilemmas and the biggest “L” of all time, which goes to Adidas for not signing Jordan to a shoe deal.

Sports staff reacts to ‘The Last Dance’ final episodes

Well, here we are. We’ve reached the end of the best thing to happen in sports for months. The final two episodes of “The Last Dance” aired Sunday and wow, what an emotional rollercoaster this series was. From the Jerry Krause bullying, to Dennis Rodman’s Vegas night, to the deaths of Jordan and Kerr’s fathers, to Jordan’s flu (or food poisoning) game to every last-second shot by Jordan, this series was impeccable. Hearing about the relationship between Gus Lett, Jordan’s head security guard, and Jordan was tearjerking. And watching Game 6 in the 1998 Finals was just beautiful.

Just as 'Rocky' star Sylvester Stallone went on to helm four of the franchise's films, Jordan stakes his own claim behind the camera with an ambitious take on the material.

The footage begins with Donnie Creed on top of the world -- a champion boxer on the cover of 'Forbes' magazine, with his wife Bianca (Tessa Thompson), a success in her own right as singer, and their daughter Amara (newcomer Mila Davis-Kent) beside them.
