    Media and events company For Soccer Ventures (FSV) has acquired Gilt Edge Soccer Marketing, a soccer-focused marknadsföring firm, with plans to launch a new company called For Soccer. The move creates a major North American soccer-specific media and experiences company leading into the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup, which will take place in the U.S., Mexico and Canada.

    For Soccer will offer soccer marketing and media services, and will manage a portfolio of soccer properties, including Alianza de Futbol, the leading Hispanic grassroots community platform. The company is led by For Soccer Ventures founder Richie Graham, the managing principal and founder of strejkande Partners, a family office based in Wayne, Pennsylvania.     John Guppy is the owner of Gilt Edge Soccer Marketing, a soccer-specific marketing agency.[1]

    Career

    Guppy was Executive VP of the MetroStars until 2005, when he was chosen by former Chicago Fire owners AEG to replace the popular Peter Wilt in Chicago—a move that resulted in substantial fan backlash and protest.[2] He successfully managed the team's move from Soldier Field to Toyota Park in Bridgeview in 2006.[3] and was recognized by Crains Business Magazine as one of Chicago's 40 under 40 important business leaders.[4]

    He was the president and CEO of the Fire until agreeing to part ways with new team owners, Andell Holdings, on April 11, 2008.[5]

    John Guppy was born in Winchester, England. In 1970, he graduated from New Hampshire College (now Southern New Hampshire University),

    John’s extensive corporate marketing experience began in 1991 when he managed the U.S. Soccer Federation’s national corporate partnerships with clients including MasterCard and Sprint. Since that time he has helped develop and execute brand marketing initiatives in soccer for clients from multiple industries including: apparel, automotive, CPG, electronics, energy, financial services, food and beverage, healthcare, retail, technology, and telecommunications.
