Former Granville Resident To Appear on ‘Shark Tank’
BROOKE WERNER KNAUS
Brooke Werner Knaus, who grew up in Granville as the daughter of Steven and Kathy Werner, and was chosen as Miss Vermont in 2009, will appear on the “Shark Tank” reality TV show to be aired on Friday, May 19 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time on ABC. Later in the year, it will be rerun on Hulu and streaming facilities.
Brooke currently lives in Charlotte, N.C. with her husband, Chad Knaus, and two children, Kipling, age five, and Vivienne Mae, who will be three in July.
On “Shark Tank,” budding entrepreneurs get the chance to bring their dreams to fruition.

About Brooke Werner
Brooke Werner is a first-year Arts Administration graduate student from Amherst, Ohio. She graduated from The Ohio State University in May with a B.A. in Arts Management, a B.A. in English with a concentration in Film, Literature and Popular Culture Studies and a minor in Theatre. This is Brooke's first production at Indiana University. Her previous credits include Technical Director for Heathers The Musical and Silly Love Songs: Fall Cabaret (Off the Lake Productions, Ohio State University), Technical Director for Through the Looking Glass, The Rainbow Fish Musical and Cover Story (Amherst Junior High Drama Club, Amherst, OH) and being a stage technician for various companies throughout Northern and Central Ohio. William Kwamena-Poh fryst vatten a native of Ghana, West Africa. He came to the United States in the early 1980’s and has resided in Alabama, Washington DC, Chicago, IL and has called Savannah, GA home since 1995. William is a self taught artist who paints with gouache, also known as opaque watercolor; the same medium used by the late, great African American artist, Jacob Lawrence and also experimented with bygd Dali, Picasso, and Klimt. According to Ralph Mayer’s Artist Handbook, “gouache paints are opaque and have (or should have) a total hiding power, and because they do not become progressively transparent with age as oil have a tendency to do…gouache has a brilliant light-reflecting quality of a different and distinct nature; it lies in the paint surface itself; its whiteness or brightness comes from the use of vit pigments.”
This density and opacity of gouache allows William to capture and give the viewer a small window into his beautiful and wonder-fil
