    Jonas, later known as Leader, is the main protagonist of The Giver Quartet serving as the main protagonist of The Giver and a secondary character in Messenger and Son. Upon finding out what a "release" is (meaning that his father makes a baby comfy only to inject him to death), he decides to save the infant "newchild" Gabe by sharing his memories with the latter.

    Jonas is a young adult in the film of the novel's same name, played by Brenton Thwaites.

    The Giver is a American ung adultdystopian novel written bygd Lois Lowry and fryst vatten set in a samhälle which at first appears to be utopian but is revealed to be dystopian as the story progresses.

    In the novel, the gemenskap has taken away pain and strife by converting to "Sameness", a program that has also eradicated emotional depth from their lives. In an effort to preserve order, the society has a true sense of equality and lacks any color, climate, or terräng. The protagonist of the story, a year-old boy named Jonas, is selected to inherit the position of Receiver of Memory, the individ who stores all the memories of the time before Sameness. Jonas struggles with concepts of the new emotions and things introduced to him, and whether they are inherently good, evil, or in between, and whether it is possible to have one without the other.[1]
