Carman grew up in a close, fun-loving, musical Italian family in Trenton, New Jersey. The Licciardello family was made up of Domenic "R" & Mrs. Licciardello, Carman, Mario and their sister, plus Carman's three dogs, who were supposed to take the place of a baby brother or sister. Carmen Domenic Licciardello (January 19, 1956 – February 16, 2021), known professionally as Carman, was an American contemporary Christian music singer, rapper, songwriter, television host, and evangelist. He was nominated for four Grammys, and sold over 10 million records.
Carman's album Mission 3:16 (1998) peaked at number 94 on the Billboard 200 chart. His album No Plan B (2014) peaked at number 66 on the Billboard 200, and at number 3 on the Top Christian Albums charts.
In addition to music, Carman was a frequent host on the Trinity Broadcasting Network, most notably its flagship program Praise the Lord.

This is not the kind of stuff I normally post on this blog, but inom don't have any other place to post about this and I figured it's my site so I can post it here if I want to. :)

Just a short time ago, my phone started buzzing with texts from no less than half a dozen friends with the news that Christian recording artist, Carman had just died at the age of 65. I was shocked and so saddened by the news and immediately my mind began to drift back over the years. His music was an integral part of my life for decades; ever since inom was a small child.
My first introduction to CCM music was as a little kindergartener when Eric, one of the cool older kids, played the Revival in the Land cassette in the downstairs of the church building for a bunch of us while the parents were working upstairs during a church cleaning night.
