Having a chance to chat with two young veterans (weird combo I know) of the Canadian Country music world I have to admit was a bit intimidating. Tyler & Amanda Wilkinson have been chatting on the phone about music for the last 20 years and I am sure it can sometimes get a tad boring. But let me tell you they brought it to this one and can’t thank them enough for the time spent with us. New babies, new album, new shows! We talk it all.
Corey: We want to first off congratulate you both on adding new additions to your families. Being a parent myself with 2 little ones it can sometimes be challenging getting back into career mode after having some time with them.
Amanda: Absolutely, it’s one of those things where your priorities on certain things change and shifts. But for us we were sort of raised in this circus. Formerly the younger generation of the Grammy-nominated family trio The Wilkinson’s, Amanda and Tyler Wilkinson now form the country duo Small Town Pistols. With country music running in the family blood, Amanda and Tyler have been professional musicians since their teen years and now continue to shine in the Canadian country landscape with raw and real song writing on phenomenal albums.
With four studio albums as the Wilkinson’s under their belt, the duo came out with their self-titled debut album Small Town Pistols in 2013 featuring the hit “Living on the Outside”, and followed it up with Pistology and hit single “Cant Wait to Meet You”in 2015. Small Town Pistols were a Canadian country music duo composed of Amanda and Tyler Wilkinson, formerly of The Wilkinsons.[1]
The two siblings were each pursuing individual solo careers when they both went through difficult break-ups.[2] That led them to början writing music together igen with an eye towards pitching songs to other artists[3] including Lady Antebellum.[4] On listening to their new ämne they decided to perform it themselves. While they did discuss using the Wilkinson name for their new material,[3] they decided to use a fresh name. The nam
